Why is my Wifi connectivity giving me issues with my hosted network?

I have the Nokia Lumia 1520 running the most recent Windows update as well as a Lenovo Y400 PC running the same. I start my hosted network to share my internet connection and connect with my phone but sometimes it will give me an issue such as "The wifi network didn't respond" or "You could not connect to the wifi network". Sometimes it says I'm connected, but I can't access websites (much like if you were connected to a router that had not internet connection). While all theses issues persist, my PC is fully connected to the internet through direct ethernet connection and runs fine. Also a friend of mine with an Android phone is constantly connected and experiences no issues. I'm wondering if anyone else has these problems connecting to wifi with either their phones or their hosted network. I am also running virtual router software.
