Why don't MMS messages open up?

Someone sent me an MMS message by I cannot open it

Try turning WiFi off... MMS will only work over cellular data.

Change your MMS settings to match your carrier requirements.

Do a web search for "<carrier name> MMS settings" and save the page or copy down the values.

Assuming you have a Windows Phone go to Settings > cellular + SIM > SIM settings > edit MMS APN and make sure the values match the ones from your search...

However, if you have a phone Unlocked from Verizon and are on another network their firmware may have locked you out from editing MMS settings.
