What do i do when my Lumia 635 doesn't show a start screen when i update to Windows Phone 10?

I updated to Windows Phone 10 on my Nokia Lumia 635 and i want dot restore my phone's settings and bring back my themes and apps and messages etc. When i did that everything was working and then it went to a blank screen with signal bars on top and a battery indicator with my navigation bar at the bottom, but theres nothing else....all black. everything else works well except my notification/action center doesn't work and nothing n the start screen works...totally black. Help!!!

Can you not just go to the app list and pin the apps back on the start screen?
Did you already try a soft reset.
If above does not work you could do a hard reset or just rollback to WP 8.1
