Why does every file I access open up Windows Media Center?

Tried to restore, but got "Sustem restore couldn't start."

1. Right click the file you want to associate with another program
2. Go to properties
3. Click Change where you see Open with
4. Choose the program you want
5. Tick the box Always open this file type with this program

Do this for every file type you want to open with a different program.
