8.10.15148.160 Update on my 640

I received the above version update on my Lumia 640. Mine is a Indian variant phone.
Any thing new in the update which I don't know? Or is it just a bugs squash update?

It could just be bug fixes. Do you mind posting your product code? You can get that from connecting to either Lumia Software Recovery or Windows Phone Recovery Tool on a PC? Or post the Manufacturer Name from under extras+info?

This update has been provided for Lumia 640 and HTC One M8 users who didn't get Windows 10 Technical Preview. Lumia 640 devices running on OS version 8.10.15127.138 or 8.10.15135.146 were not able to upgrade to Win 10 Mobile Technical Preview build as there was a missing path between their Win 8.1 and Win 10. Consider this update 8.10.15148.160 as a link to upgrade to Win 10 in future as it will enable your device for coming Win 10 update. Hopefully after this update you might be able to upgrade your device to Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Rather than start a new thread I will continue in this one, and hope that someone can help me.

It has been reported here, on a link which I am unfortunately unable to include, that OS and firmware updates for the Lumia 640 models are currently being pushed out by Microsoft.

Like most owners, I always like to have the latest updates, although customers (like myself!) who live in the U.K. and who obtained their phones directly from EE will of course already have the benefit of Wi-Fi calling but these latest updates also appear to add additional functionality.

My particular Lumia 640LTE was supplied directly by an EE retail store on 20th May 2015, and is on a (second line) monthly contract with them. So far as I am aware I have not received any updates since that date. It is a Model RM1072 (Code: 059X1Q3) and has OS Version 8.10.15145.156. The firmware is 15172.06014, so neither of these would appear to be the latest releases.

Could one of the technical experts on here please advise me if, and hopefully when, I can expect to receive an update?

I would also be interested to hear if any EE customers already have received them, as apparently folk who purchased their 640’s directly from the Microsoft store, and are connected to the O2 network in the UK have already done so.

I recently bought a new Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE (single sim card), and I am desperately trying to upgrade it to Windows 10 Mobile, with no success.

These are the specifications of the phone:

Model: Microsoft Lumia 640 LTE
Software: Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2
OS version: 8.10.15127.138
Firmware revision number: 02166.00000.15103.05001
Product Code: 059X0P7
Hardware revision number: 2.1.6.2

How do I upgrade the OS version from 8.10.15127.138 to 8.10.15148.160, so that then, as Akash11 wrote, I will be able to make the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile?

Because I am not able to change from 8.10.15127.138 to 8.10.15148.160....how do you do this?

Hi if you download windows upgrade advisor from the store run it you should be able to upgrade I've just done my 640 successfully
