Windows phone has 30 volume levels (meaning 30 /30 is maximum and 0 /30 is silence)
The lumia 730 has a weird audio calibration compared to other phones I've used in the past.
You can clearly distinct 3 different stages when turning up the volume from the lowest setting and occurs as below:
From 1-10 /30 the sound is bassy and deep,
from 11-20 /30 the sound is nicely equalised and pleasant with pretty good volume output,
from 21-30 /30 the lows are pretty much gone, leaving only the mids and highs sound. Giving the sensation of noice /above average quality.
In crowded places, the speaker is audible above 23 /30 (and pretty loud) but as said above the quality isn't that great.
Also you should keep in mind that in the lower volumes (when watching videos, etc. in complete silence) the speaker is producing noice
which could be very irritating if you want to watch it on the lowest volume (1 /30).
So in the end I have to say that the speaker on 730 is it's weakest point, not bad by any means, but is below average on the higher volumes and above average in the mid volumes.
