always showing the message icon

the message icon is always showing even though I have no messages, tried both soft and hard reset but still there.

What do you mean by "message icon"?

The icon indicating unread notifications in the notification center?
The messaging icon on the app's tile?

Where or where does it persist???

Is it below the Cellular and WiFi status area? On your Live Tile?




You need to clear out some old threads... Especially any from Short Code senders (It would say From 864327 or some 6 digit number)

yes unread noticfications, I keep checking texts/email/facebook but all clear but icon still there
