is there any differences between l830&l640xl glance screen abilities?

i saw this a pic today. there were l640 and l830 glance screen in the pic. for l640 it was written "experience 1 bit" and for l830 it was written "experience 3 bit". can someone help?

I have no idea what that "bit" thing even means.

It appears the 640 and the 640 XL's glance cannot display backgrounds or apps.

Backgrounds are the option in Glance to show the lockscreen background on the glance screen. You don't have that while the 830 does.
App data is stuff like putting weather data (which has to be your lockscreen too) on the glance screen.

On the 640's, all you have is the clock and notifications. For many that is all they need and it won't be a major thing for me, but I admit I do dabble in that at times.
