why does my 830 only recieve phone calls on speaker or earphones

phone has stopped working normally and I can't hear or talk to caller unless I use speaker or head phones. I have been using head phones for audio books a lot lately. Tried soft reset and volume control with no success.

Probably your phone is "stuck" in headphone mode due to some "dirt" in the earphone plug.
Check if you can see some "stuff" in the plug and use a toothbrush to give it a good clean.
