Windows Central Question

I need some new earphones and want to buy some Monster Beats for my Nokia Lumia 520. As they are quite expensive I want to make sure they are compatible. Are they compatible?

Unless they say they are specifically for an iOS device, they should work.

Don't you think headphones that cost 6 times what your phone was worth brand new might not be overkill???

They'll work fine, but you won't get any support. iOS gets all the support for those earphones.
Look up Audio-Technica CKX9iS Sonic Fuel earbuds. They're $80, they have amazing sound quality (so they're great value) and fully support Windows Phones. It has a one button remote, a volume slider, and a mix built into the flat cable. One press pauses/plays, two presses skips, and a long press opens Cortana voice search (where you can talk into the mic). They're amazing. You can go read the review at trustedreviews.com. They received a 9/10 and the only thing keeping them from a full 10/10 is that they're a little large and some people might not find them completely comfortable.
Everything I've seen (or rather heard) the only thing Beats has over these is bass. And bass in Beats are overemphasized and wash out the rest of the sound. Plus the demo pairs in stores have their bass increased to impress more, but that just makes it worse. These headphones have a fun, yet still accurate sound. There's space between instruments, clarity in low, mid, and high range. High range isn't tinny, bass is emphasized yet not overbearing. They're not the MOST accurate sound around but they're the best sound for under a hundred dollars and can compare with earphones three times the price.

Besides, it's a Lumia 520. I can buy one for fifteen dollars if I really looked. Beats are too much, aren't they? They're just not good value in any situation. If you're going to spend that much money on headphones there are WAY better options.
