Why can't I hear callers without using speaker or headphones?

I got my phone less than two weeks ago. On Friday I put a case on it and since then there has been no sound in calls without using a headset or speaker. I did a soft reset and just finished a hard reset and nothing. The phone has not been dropped or anything yet.

Does the case fit properly?
Was the case made specifically for you phone model?

Yes, I bought a case specifically for the 830. It looks like the top left corner is scratched though.
I'm not sure if that has something to do with it.
