Surface 3, worth it?

Hi guys, i'm an italian university student and i'm planning to ditch my laptop with Surface 3 and i would like some feedbacks to set up my mind.

I own a 2013 Samnsung Ativ Book 9 Lite (AMD A6 quad core, 4gb ram, 128ssd, 13.3") which i use for reading , creating, modifying pdfs and slides, taking notes during class, web browsing, watching video (streaming to chromecast when i'm home). For this use Surface 3 (4gb 128gb) would be a better choice? Or in term of performances wouldn't be a real upgrade?

I personally think the Surface 3 is overpriced compared to a Pro 3 in the USA, but I don't know what the Italian prices are.
