Why won't sound work once my headphones die and I try to charge it and reconnect?

Why wont sound work once my headphones die and i try to charge it and reconnect

Ok i have some sony stero headphones, they are wireless so they can die, well when they die while using my computer and i unplug the usb that connects it then recharge my headphones and try to plug it back in, sound wont even start to play with the usb in, it just wont connect, so i have to completely restart my computer, any help?
