Why is my phone not charging??

Changed the screen on my lumia 1020. It comes on, shows low battery icon and dies even when connected to charger

What he said ^^^. It is bad for the battery and the OS to constantly try starting and getting improper shutdowns repeatedly with an undercharged battery.
