How can I locate my stolen Windows Phone?

My brother is traveling in Romania and yesterday and his Nokia Lumia 1520 was stolen. Unfortunately he likely didn't have the 'find my phone' settings activated.

Someone has taken possession of the phone and taken some selfies which have been uploaded to Onedrive. So we know what the thieves look like.

Does anyone know a way to locate the phone?

Not really but if you allowed to tag the location of photos you may get the location where the selfies where taken.

Without Find My Phone, the pics are the best clue. If the GPS info in camera is disallowed then... Ouch.

Download the selfies, especially if they show a personal type space like a living room, bedroom , etc. Right click the pic > select properties > details tab > read off the Latitude and Longitude from the exif data and put that into a mapping application.

Take all of that information to the authorities.
