Why aren't apps appearing under 'Install Local Apps'?

App not appearing under 'Install Local Apps'

1. I downloaded an app from the windows phone store.
2. I copied the .XAP into the root directory of my phone.
3. I went to store, clicked on '...' and selected "Install Local Apps"
4. There is nothing listed.

I have restarted my phone, renamed the app, redownloaded and copied again. Made a folder in my root directory called APPS and put it there.

It must know it's there because the menu entry for install local apps appears, but there are 0 apps in the list.

Just move downloaded app to folder named "downloads" and reboot the device and check it in local app section.

Try to put them into your phone again and don't restart your phone before installation. Go to the store and give it a minute or two, the apps will appear and then try to install them.
