Upgrade to windows 10 without reservation?

Is it possible to upgrade to windows 10 without using the reservation option.
I got two dell venue 8, one of them i was able to get the icon in the notification bar to make the reservation.

But with the other one i was not able to do that, made all updates.
Cant do any more updates now, restarted it lots of time and tried the guides and fixes for it.

So i thought if i could just download the iso for windows 10 and upgrade it like that, or will there be any problems that way?

When the first one is done upgrading, search the filesystem for "install.esd" - you'll probably find it in $windows.~bt\Sources.

Search the Internet for "esd-decryptor" - download and use that tool to convert the .esd to an .iso file.

Copy the .iso over to the other machine, mount it, and run setup.
