Windows 10 how do you turn on the keyboard backlight on a microsoft surface pro 3

What do you need to do to make the keyboard backlight turn on and off on a Microsoft surface pro 3

I'm having the same problem on the SP3, backlight not working!

problem solved.. holding down the fn key then tapping the F2 key does the trick.

Holding the Function key and F2 doesn't work. It worked before Windows 10

control f2 worked for me on Windows 10 ( SP3 +SP4 Type Cover)

holding FN and hitting F2 a few times got the light up to the brightness I like.

Tap the function key (Fn) and then you can repeatedly tap the F2 key to obtain the brightness you want. Important - don't hold the Fn key down. Just tap it once before tapping F2. rly:
