How can I fix error: video cannot be decoded?

Just downloaded Windows 10 and getting this message when trying to play dvd

Me too, using Windows 10 DVD Player app. Seems related to Dolby audio as all my DVD main features are failing to play, but the trailers (which are encoded in stereo) play ok.

same here, video in start up screen, start,see whats on the menu, Video couldn't be decoded?? Needs to be addressed.

After upgrading to Windows 10 and losing the media player, one of the free updates was the Windows DVD player. However, as many of you posted, you got coding errors. I went to download.com and downloaded a code pack and can now, once again play DVD'S, but what a pain! It is, however worth it to be able to play your DVD'S on your computer. I used the media player code pack on CNET download.com. Note...I am not a computer nerd so do this at your own risk. Just passing on what just worked for me. Good luck!
