Why does my screen go black on the home screen after a few minutes?

Screen goes black on home screen after a few minutes.

I have a HP pavilion DV7T Quad edition. Went from Windows 7 to Windows 10. When ever i boot the computer eveything works fine but after a few minutes on the home screen everything goes black just leaving a mouse cursor but I am able to access task manager. Its almost like the video drivers crash on the laptop. Right now i am able to bring up the chrome browser but again everything behind it is black. If anyone has any suggestions please reply.

If you can get to a browser check HP support for updated drivers including Chipset and graphics. BIOS update would not be out of line either.

Hopefully you can run them from the support page.
