Why won't my mail and calendar open in Windows 10, all other app open ok?

Mail and calendar wont open in Windows 10, all other app open ok

on a dell laptop

Mine opens, and I can see recent messages, but nothing responds to click or touch. Completely frozen. From other posts in the community it seems that the app is having overall general distress. Not a good start for a default app.
