How to fix Microsoft Edge?

Okay so I purchased a Surface 3 yesterday with Microsoft 10 installed and so far Microsoft Edge sucks big tie compared to the Explorer app on my Surface 2. I LOVED the search bar on the bottom that was hidden and all I had to do was swipe up. Also, I cannot swipe from the left to go back to the previous page... I have mine on tablet mode, do I need to go back to Microsoft and ask for one with 8.1 or am I missing something? I refuse to use Microsoft Edge if it sucks like this.
