Why can't I add an email acct to settings in Windows 10?

I can't add email acct to settings in Windows 10

I went to settings to add a second email acct and Windows 10 changes the password to the wrong password (long password and I can only see dots with no eye on the end) and won't log in.

I've rebooted, reset acct and checked settings. All are correct. The password keeps changing itself. Tried to call Microsoft tech spt but 1 1/2 wait time.

Any ideas pls? Thank you
