Why does my screen keep flashing after a download of Windows 10?

Windows Central Question

Screen keeps flashing after download of Windows 10

I downloaded Windows 10 and now the laptop goes into the start process but when it gets to the desktop it just keeps flashing and I cannot access any programs.
