How do I get rid of the Cortana search window?

I have removed the search icon from the task bar and turned off Cortana in Cortana settings and rebooted.

The black Cortana search window pops up every few seconds no matter what.

I am at the end of my rope. This is so annoying.

How did you remove the search icon?

Right click on the task bar; click on Search; click on Hidden. That hides the search icon but nothing so far gets rid of the window that keeps popping up.

Try to uncheck both search icon & search box,then click on hidden
