I disabled Cortana, but it still uses 26 MB of RAM. Can I uninstall Cortana?

I don't have a microphone on my home desktop. I will never use Cortana. Even though I disabled Cortana it is still using 26 MB of memory. Can I uninstall it? Alternatively is there a way to stop Cotana from using memory?

I have looked into that a week or so ago when I noticed how much of a memory hog it was even when disabled. It is intergraded into the windows search so unless Microsoft comes up with something safe we can do to stop it from loading we are stuck with it. There have been posts online about renaming the folder and I did try that and it worked (also disabled the search), but changed it back not knowing just how much intergraded it is and what problems could arise later on using my system. I could live without the search option to stop it from loading at all, but I don't know how deep it goes into the OS to chance it.

Mine usually runs around 46%.

It was running at around 28%, but I added an additional 4GB of memory today so it's eating more now.
