Why won't my laptop update to windows 10

I get the screen to update to Windows 10 and it starts its thing where it is checking but it just spins around and never completes the process. It does not even give me an error message.

Are you sure it's not doing anything? The update can take a long time, sometimes hours.

I have the same issue--I just see this screen
