What in Windows 10 changed the way I connect to gaming servers?

After installing windows 10 I cannot connect to (or even find) any game servers as well as seen a severe slow down of my computer. What could have changed that would block my computer from servers and a lot of websites. I have checked my wifi connection and reset both my computer and modem several times. I looked through my security system, but if something changed I can't find it. Any clue what it is or how to change it would be appreciated. At this point it feels like I traded my useable system for an Apple system from 10 years ago.
