I dont know the error code that I got, but after downloading almost 3 gigs of data (TWICE!!!), I saw the windows 10 installation screen once, but it soon reported of an error and then restored my PC back to 8.1.
I tried the media creation tool, it too downloaded full 2.7 odd gigs of files. Started the installation, finished the preparation for installation but then said some error occured and restarted the system with 8.1. Only extra thing it did was to give a message that it has collected the details of my error.
What can I do? I dont want to spend time and money in simply downloading the 3 gig file again and again.
P.S. the app to check the availability of Windows 10 reports that my PC is capable and eligible to receive windows 10. It only prompted me to download the upgrade files in the first place.
