Is there a way to keep the Band from ending a run when you pause at a long light?

Ok, this is the third time my Band has done this, and it's getting super old. I was in the middle of a 5 mile run, and it started raining really heavily. I paused the run to step under cover and make sure my electronics were all tucked safely away, and when I went to resume my run (maybe 90 seconds later), it had ended my workout, and I had to start again. In addition, because I was flustered, I only pushed the button once, so it didn't actually start tracking my run until I checked it, half a mile later, and saw that GPS had locked on. This is incredibly frustrating, and I was wondering if anyone else had had this issue, and furthermore, if anyone knew of a way to stop it.
