Why do I have to use the left click button and not tap the mouse pad?

why do i have to use the left click button and not tap the mouse pad

the mouse pad allows me to move the curser around but doesn't let me tap only the left button have been into settings no joy

It could be a driver issue. Have you tried updating your drivers?
