Lumia 720 hangs due to low on internal memory n switches off

I have Lumia 720, it has 8 GB of internal storage and 16 GB of there is enough free space on SD card but only 187 MB of free space in internal memory. since yesterday it is giving problems and hangs on and off and since today morning it just switches off on its own what can i do to transfer / delete the data from phone memory? Please help. i tried to connect it with with laptop via USB cable but as the phone is switched off am unable to access it... need urgent help...

Running Storage Sense (assuming WP8.1) and deleting apps/temporary files will help.

Perhaps try starting without the SD present if you really can't even start it to see if that helps.

Deleting large apps installed on the phone are easiest way to get space back. E.g. a large game.

If you really cannot start the phone the a hard reset may be the only option as you cannot access the phone data without it running.
