Transfer photos from camera to Windows Phone

Hi all! I've been reading news on this site for a while and now I'm finally joining in on the community.
I'm going on a long trip in a few months and I'm looking at ways to send pictures from my Fujifilm X100S to my phone so that I can upload them to the cloud. I'm looking to do a setup where I plug the SD card into the micro USB port and I use a file manager. Is this possible on WP 8.1? Right now I have a Lumia 920 and I'm considering upgrading to a new phone with a micro SD slot so I don't risk running out of space when handling the photos. I'd like to stick with WP but if there's no solution I might buy a cheap android for the trip and leave my WP at home, because this can be done on an android. I'm also considering getting an Eye-Fi Mobi 16GB SD card, but it would be easier for me to transfer them straight from the camera's SD card. Thanks in advance! =]

re:

The feature you are looking for is known as USB OTG. Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 currently does not support that feature but it is rumored to be in future Windows Mobile 10 builds. For now you'll need a PC to achieve what you are looking to do. On the cheap Android phone alternative, not all Android phones support USB OTG so I would suggest doing some research before buying. Also looks like Eyefi Mobi does have a Windows Phone 8.1 compatible app in case you want to buy the card. Here's the link to the app.
