Why am I unable to set a custom ringtone in build 10536?

unable to set custom ringtone in build 10536

i have been trying to set custom ringtone however it is not working. the ringtone doesnt show any song added externally. i have tried some third party apps and also pasting mp3 directly into thr ringtone folder. is there any other way or earlier builds had the same problem? running lumia 730 on build 10536.
