Why have I lost all my old emails and contacts since downloading Windows 10? How do I get them back?

Since downloading Windows 10 I have lost all my old historic emails and I can't find my contacts list.
Please....please....please can anyone help me get them back?

Are you referring to PC or phone?

At any rate, you should still find your emails and contacts when you log into your email account through browser (not an app).
