Synchronising Outlook between phone and laptop, hoe can I do this?

Synchronising Outlook between phone and laptop

I've been given a Lumia phone, and have managed to set most of it up, no problem ... except I can't sync my emails - if I delete one on the laptop it remains on the phone, and vice versa.

Any suggestions as to where I should be looking to sort this out?

What type of email account(s) are you using: outlook.com, Gmail, Exchange, your ISP's account (which ISP)?

It's a Googlemail account viewed in Outlook, through an Outlook.com account (I think!). ISP is Sky.

You'll need to set up your Gmail account as IMAP, not POP3. https://support.google.com/mail/troubleshooter/1668960?hl=en

Yes it is already setup as IMAP.

What do you suggest next, Laura?
