Why won't my camera turn on?

[Windows Central Question]

Camera will not turn on.

clicking on the camera icon, looks like it is going to turn on then goes back to main screen.

Lumia 830 camera is 10mp.. But now it show 8mp... Their is no quality in pics..

Soft reset, re-install the camera app, soft reset again, then try it out. If it doesn't work then try hard reseting as your very last solution before taking it to repair.

The total sensor size is 10MP, but the output photos won't be 10MP. That's because not the entire sensor is being used, mainly because of the difference between the sensor area used or 4:3 and 16:9 photos. This is true for almost all Lumia phones capable of changing the image aspect ratio. To emphasize, the Lumia 1020 has a 41MP sensor, but it can only output 34MP or 38MP photos depending on the aspect ratio.
