What happens is when it finally gets to the black screen which is finalizing the upgrade, it gets to about 86% from the copying of files. And 25% from the overall upgrade., it reverts back to restoring windows 7 again. Please help.

I'd would help if we'd know the specs of your PC.
This error can occur if you have an unsupported graphics card.
I would recommend you look up if everything is compatible with Windows10 and install the latest drivers.
If you received the update for win10 through Windows update, contact Microsoft Support.
