you can go to Cortana settings and turn her off there. Then you'll get the old bing search back. You cant remove office, onenote and onedrive, they are part of the windows phone OS

Had a nasty feeling that that would be the case.
Another example of microsoft adding rubbish.
Hopefully xda developers will release an update to get rid of them.

Easiest way to get rid of these, is to get yourself another phone running sailfish, android or an iphone.

Beyond the information given by the other posters as well.

I would say this thread has run it's course. As I can see this turning a childish finger point about o/s's / companies. If your looking for that, then there is a sub section for that sort of triviality.

Re: How do I remove cortana from lumia 435?

I specifically waited for a windows phone in my price range because I don't do android and I will never buy apple products.
Up 'til last week I was using a nokia E6-00.

I use phone, msg, media player & satnav.
I occasionally use browser (wifi only) and I've actually found a couple of useful reference apps on the store.

The rest can go in the bin.
And yes, that includes the camera.

You may be able to axe Office + OneNote in WXM but otherwise you're left with what others have posted.

Turn them off and chill. You're asking for an iPhone while uninstalling only Siri or Watch. (another example of MS adding "rubbish" indeed, while iOS gets more and more random apps.) There will be no XDA "update" most likely.
