How do I save a file to multiple locations in one go?

Save a file to multiple locations in one go

Hello - I am trying to save files to 2 locations every time a save is executed.
Is there any software that enables this for windows 8.1 or 10?

So basically: Saving to the internal drive (C) will also initiate a save to and external hard drive.

Sometimes the files include information that should not go on a cloud system for data security / protection - so I don't think something like drop box would work. (Though can it be configured to sync like this?)
Recently had a disc error that resulted in problems, and we realised that a daily backup is not enough.
