Can I use the headphone jack on my microsoft surface as a line in jack?

I want to record live audio captured on a audio switchboard to surface but there is no line in jack.

I don't think so. I believe its a line out only. Maybe someone else will have more definitive info for you.

If it's only in, I would say your best solution would be to buy a USB audio jack dongle.
