After successful 1511 upgrade my first shutdown now gets Black logon screen, why?

After sucessfull 1511 upgrade my first shutdown now gets Black logon screen

Any ways I think I am at the logon. Only the mouse pointer is visible. How do I go about doing a recovery when I can not see anything?
