Why can't I save the detains after manually inputting the APN details?

Windows Central Question

My provider (Vodafone UK) does not support this phone. On entering the APN details manually, I am unable to save them. Is it my phone's fault or is it the software? Can anybody help please

A little more information would be helpful,
  1. such as which phone?
  2. which operating system?
