HP Pavilion 6 fingerprint scanner problems

I have a HP Pavilion 6 i5 laptop and since installing windows10 everytime it does an auto update my fingerprint scanner stops working and I have to take it to be repaired. This is costing me money. How do I get the scanner working again without paying out again...!! Thanks
