Why does Amazon player use surround on my system but Media Player and Groove don't?

There's not much detail to include, I load Amazon prime music I get 7.1 sound, I try to play on windows media player or groove and I get stereo with no rear speakers. I would be very interested in resolving this issue since Amazon's player works fine automatically and nothing from windows will.
