recovery remove password

my dad passed away and i want to access some documents in his phone which has a password.i don't want to reset the phone because i don't know his microsoft account

To gain access to the account, you'll need to work through with support for Outlook.com.

And use the Accounts & Billing option. When you get to chat with a support person (usually a chat window), they'll be able to guide you to the current process.
