Can not shrink C Drive size beyond a particular boundary

Hi sir,

I buy a laptop(Dell Inspiron 5558). It has 1TB storage . Initially 1TB is in C Drive only. I shrink the storage using computer management option but I was able to shrink only about 450GB . Now I have 464Gb in C Drive . I don't want that much storage in C Drive . I want to shrink to 250GB . Please help me

There are some files that are marked as unmovable - and AFAIK you cannot shrink a partition beyond where they are located.
If you have the installation media for your laptop handy - here is what I recommend:
1. Backup all necessary files from C to another partition/hard drive.
2. Format your machine using the installation media.
3. During the process, delete the C partition. Create a new one with as much/little space you want. Install windows in that partition.

Cuz you can not shrink a volume beyond the point where any unmovable files are located through built-in Disk Management. I suggest a freeware named AOMEI Partition Assistant. It can resize partitions without limitations. And it's easy to operate even for green hands.
