Windows Central Question

Is there software for the Windws OS that createss a musical score from a midi keyboard.

I'm a novice and have used Mac's Garageband to create a musical score as the music is played on an attached midi keyboard. Is there any software for the Windows platform that does this.

Finale by MakeMusic will do this. It is the #1 notation program followed closely by Sibelius. It is pricey though since it is intended for professionals. There are other products from MakeMusic and they all have a free trial. My suggestion would be find out which level you need for what you plan to do.

Also check out MuseScore. It is free and, last I used it, well designed with good features. I believe it also has midi input to notation.

All 3 programs I listed also support the xml file format which is "universal" to some extent.
