Multiple photo files saved on device and OneDrive on W10Mobile?

I'm getting multiple files saved to my camera roll using Windows 10 Mobile and it's cluttering up my OneDrive Camera Roll. For example, I will get an image named WP_20151226_18_21_58_Pro then one named WP_20151226_18_21_58_Pro_1 also. It's annoying me to no end. Does the camera auto correct images after they are taken and save a copy? How do I shut this off? Can't find a toggle anywhere. Please help!!! Thanks!

Which lumia model?
And do you do any photo editing? Some apps like creative studio save the file using the same name but adding a number at the end

When this happened to me it turned out I had the shutter button set to continuos release, capturing images as long as pressed. What felt like a single button press to me took multiple pics

Apparently I wasn't logged in when I posted this question. I'm using a Lumia Icon (929). Hold camera button is set to disabled - no burst. The files are always the same size (exact copies).
