Windows Central Question

So after a lovely "automatic update", it turned out that the sound on my laptop would switch volume at complete random. It would alternate between quiet whisper and air raid siren level deafening at its own leisure, which was somewhat unpleasant, especially while using headphones. Every source I read indicated that it was due to a defective Realtek audio driver. So, as suggested, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the driver, and it actually solved the original problem. Unfortunately, this created another one, and the excellent sound that my laptop originally produced now sounds cheap and tinny. I want to know why this is. What is the best way to solve this.

Beyond that Microsoft, a suggestion: please don't release updates until you have your **** together. It's annoying having to fix errors for you after I paid you money.
